THE JIM GILBERT’S WHEELS AND DEALS #HugOfTheWeek GOES TO… CARTER MCLAUGHLIN, AND 100 MEN WHO CARE FREDERICTON !! JOIN CARTER AND OTHER LOCAL MEN WHO SHOW HOW “MANLY” THEY ARE… BY MAKING A MEASURABLE, POSITIVE IMPACT IN THE GREATER FREDERICTON AREA !! FROM CANADA’S HUGGABLE CAR DEALER & Bell Media

100 Men Who Care are Very honoured to be the recipient (along with all members of @100MenWhoCare) of @WheelsandDeals “Hug of the Week this week.

100 men who care gleaner picture         Austism 100 men who care
Very happy to report that we presented cheques to Autism Connections Fredericton tonight amounting to $8900 by the time the evening was over and all cheques counted. This number hopes to inflate to at least $9500 in the next day. If you’d like to contribute, you don’t even have to be a member. You can drop off a cheque for $100, made out to “Autism Connections Fredericton” to Vagrant Creative100 Men Who Care
Care like a man. Show your community just how manly you can be by joining other local men who want to make a measurable, positive impact right here in the Greater Fredericton Area.
So we get 100 (or more) manly men (guys, dudes, bros, gentlemen, whatever you prefer) together, each with a $100 cheque in their pocket to give to 1 local charity that we all vote on that night. BAM! $10,000 in real money to a charity in our own backyard. We do it 4 times a year.
How do you get involved? It’s simple. You join us right here on this website and make a commitment to donating $100 4 times in that year. When you sign up, you nominate a charity. Then you stand by your commitment shoulder to shoulder with other local men… attend the meetings and bring your cheque!  It couldn’t be more simple.  JOIN US and make a difference.
How We Work
You don’t have to give a lot, alone.  You just have to give a little, together.  It’s a simple concept that enables us to make a positive impact in our community, together as a group of like-minded men.

The Basics

We don’t technically exist.  We are not registered.  We have no directors, presidents or treasurers.  We have no bank account.  We have no operating budget, because our members write their cheques directly to the recipient charity.  “We”, collectively, are just a group of guys getting together because we care about our community.  We are not an entity, but a movement.  Our core group of organizers are simply volunteers generously donating their time to try and make a difference.
The goal of the group is to support the wonderful work our local charities do, in funds, exposure, and awareness.

How It Works

  • Charities are nominated by the membership. There are eligibility requirements.
  • 3 charities are randomly chosen by blind draw from our list of member-nominated charities.
  • Representatives from the 3 selected charities will be asked to make a five-minute presentation to the group about that charities initiative and why they are deserving of the group’s vote.
  • After the presentations, a ballot is held and the charity with the most votes by simple majority will be the recipient.
  • All members must then write out their cheque to the charity with the most votes – no exceptions.
  • The selected organization will receive a group donation of $10,000 or more.
  • All the cheques are collected by the organizing committee and given to the chosen charity that evening.

Guidelines

  • Members who did not vote for the selected organization must make their donation to the charity voted on by the majority of those in attendance.
  • If a member misses a meeting, he must provide
  • Members will receive a tax receipt directly from the organization.
  • There is no proxy voting, but members who cannot attend must ensure their blank cheque (in a sealed envelope) reaches their ‘buddy’ or the meeting organizers before the meeting starts.
  • Organizations under consideration must serve the Greater Fredericton Area and provide individual tax receipts directly to contributing members.
  • The recipient charity is not eligible to be nominated/presented for 2 (two) years. The other two charities may be nominated/presented again after 6 (six) months.  The exception is a specific program within a large organization (for example a specific department or program within a hospital), which may be considered again for a different program or department at any time.
  • Ties will be decided by a draw.
  • The selected organization must agree not to give out member information to any third parties except for tax purposes.
  • Each meeting will open with a five minute update on how the funds donated at the previous meeting were used by the successful organization.
  • Meetings are diligently conducted in one hour or less (with ample opportunity for networking prior to each meeting).
Please visit our FAQs page to get answers to all your questions!

Where It Happens

To minimize our costs, we depend on the generosity of those interested in hosting our meetings every three months.
If you have a venue and would like to host a meeting, please contact us and we can work out the details.

Maybe you care too…

  • If you want to make a big impact your own community…
  • If you know that it’s more manly to care…
  • If you want to stand together with other men in your community to make a difference…
  • If you are a man of your word and can make a commitment…
Then please Join Us and we’ll change our community together.

Janelle Fraser, International Speaker, Trainer, & Success Coach on CHCDTV with Jim Gilbert Canada's Huggable Car Dealer. Learn about Janelle and enjoy one of the most rewarding journeys of your life and we guarantee it!

What is the difference between happy and unhappy people or successful and unsuccessful people? What separates the leaders from the followers? Is there any area of your life you want to experience more happiness and success? Are you interested in being a leader that people love to follow?

The answer is simple… It’s all in your thinking. You may not believe me yet, but that’s what my other clients said just before they realized the impact of their thoughts on their reality. The genuinely happywildly successful, and dynamic leaders of today have a mind-set that is different from the general population and it is this distinction that has allowed them to rise to the top.
Janelle firmly believes that coaching is a “do-with” process as there is nothing she can do-to-you to magically get the life you want. A coach is simply a tour guide (highly skilled with a few tricks up their sleeve) and works with the client to get the desired results. Together you and Janelle will design a coaching plan that fits your needs and goals.
The following may be a new way of looking at personal and professional development, but if you really want results you will have to consider this. If your knowledge on the unconscious mind is limited please refer to “What is heck is my unconscious mind” for further understanding. After all, your unconscious mind keeps you alive!
Can you remember a time where you made a conscious decision to change a behavior, or act differently? Of all the times you have done this, how many of those changes actually lasted (be honest)? Not many! This is because you were making conscious change and all behavior, change, and learning is unconscious and therefore, we need to work with both the conscious and unconscious mind to create lasting change. This contributes to the reason Janelle is comfortable guaranteeing her results as a coach.
Janelle guarantee’s your results when you hire her as your coach; based on her experience her clients always get results (which is relatively unheard of in the coaching community). What this means is that she has strict selection criteria for personal clients. Therefore, individuals interested in personal coaching must be serious about taking their personal or professional development to the next level and must be willing to do whatever it takes to move themselves past their obstacles.
“I do not believe in “quick fixes” or “temporary” solutions which is why I very rarely do 1 session. However, it is very common my clients are achieving results after only 1 session. My private clients are committed to their results and can expect to invest 4-5 figures depending on the value and results they wish to obtain. All coaching relationships are unique”

FLOW HOME CLEANING PARTNERS WITH A NONPROFIT
Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada – January 4, 2014 – Flow Home Cleaning is a locally-owned business that has teamed up with Cleaning For A Reason, an international nonprofit foundation. Flow Cleaning is dedicated to being Fredericton’s favorite home cleaning service by offering consistent, professional, and friendly customer service. Flow wants their clients to come home to a fresh, perfectly clean home and to feel their stress melt away as they step in the door. The service is personalized and clients are guaranteed 100 percent happiness and satisfaction. The staff at Flow are covered by company-funded health benefits plan and protected by WorkSafe NB. Owner Monica Danielski wants Flow Home Cleaning to be seen as a company that cares for their clients, their staff, and also their community in which they live.
Danielski states, “I could not imagine how overwhelming and difficult it would be to undergo cancer treatments, while at the same time have to take care of your family and home. It might sound small to some, but we strongly believe that having a clean home can make a difference. In the past we have cleaned for clients dealing with critical illness and they told us we helped to make their home a place to heal and invite others in. Dealing with illness can also be an isolating experience and many clients said that our visits were the highlight of their week. We are so pleased to be joining with Cleaning For A Reason who will help us connect with women facing incredibly difficult times. We are hoping that the donated cleanings will make their lives just a little easier.”
Cleaning for a reason
The company has agreed to help women battling cancer by cleaning two homes per month for four consecutive months at no charge. The only requirement is that the homes be within the company’s existing service area of Fredericton and surrounding areas. For more information about this company, go to www.flowcleaners.com.
Cleaning For A Reason strives to aid women who are battling cancer by teaming up with professional cleaning companies across the United States and Canada. Young Adult Cancer Canada http://www.youngadultcancer.ca
Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) was established in 2000 (originally as RealTime Cancer) by Geoff Eaton after his first cancer challenge. Geoff’s vision focused on educating and supporting young adults. At the core of that vision was the belief that cancer–like all of life’s challenges–brings with it valuable lessons and experiences. For the first three years of operation, which included a cancer relapse and additional treatment for Geoff, YACC focused on the school program and delivery of positive messages to young adults. During a meeting with a mentor on the morning of the 2003 golf tournament, Geoff began a process that would fundamentally change YACC’s vision and operations, while keeping the values and beliefs fully intact.
The cause
YACC research revealed that over 7,000 young adults were diagnosed in Canada each year, that their survival rates were virtually unchanged since the 1970s, and–most importantly–there were no readily-available and relevant support programs to help young adults with cancer deal with the very unique issues they face. Life is different in your teens, 20s and 30s; it just makes sense it’s different with cancer, too. Young adults with cancer need and deserve an organization wholly focused on providing customized support programs to help them deal with their cancer experience. Given there was not one organization in Canada with this as its focus the vision was obvious: YACC had to be that national cancer organization providing resources for young adults looking for inspiration, information and support.

logo_special-olympics
Founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the Special Olympics movement has grown to include nearly 3.7 million athletes in 229 accredited programs in 170 countries, including Canada.
On June 9, 1969, in Toronto, Ontario, the very first Special Olympics national competition was held, less than one year after the sport movement was born on Chicago’s Soldier Field. It attracted 1,400 individuals with an intellectual disability from towns and cities across our country. In 1979 the Special Olympics movement came east and 3 devoted individuals in the Riverview area incorporated Special Olympics New Brunswick.
Since our humbling initiation as a registered charitable non-profit organization Special Olympics New Brunswick has grown to offer sport and recreation opportunities to approximately 500 people with an intellectual disability. We are also supported by nearly 200 dedicated volunteers; some of which have been involved for over 30 years!
At Special Olympics New Brunswick it is our mission to enhance the lives of New Brunswickers with and intellectual disability through sport. It is our goal to grow our organization and continually increase the number of athletes and volunteers.

On March 8 2013, I was diagnosed with Stage Four Colon Cancer. I was forty two years old. Though I had a family history of this disease, I mistakenly believed I didn’t need to be screened until I was older. When I began feeling frequently fatigued and then experiencing minor symptoms, I mistakenly assumed it was a normal part of getting older. Unfortunately, my assumptions cost me dearly as I ignored my symptoms until the cancer was in six of my internal organs and I was Stage Four. Now my doctors have told me that I will be need chemotherapy for the rest of my life. So to help save others from my fate, I want to shine a bright spotlight on Colon Cancer awareness. I want to help save lives! So I’m planning the first Push for Your Tush, a national walk/run event in support of Colon Cancer Canada, for my hometown of Fredericton, New Brunswick. Twenty three thousand people across Canada will be diagnosed in the coming year and 9000 of them will die from a disease that’s 90% preventable and highly curable when detected early. Push for Your Tush in Fredericton will raise the awareness so people are talking about colon cancer and the importance of early screening. Now that my cancer has made it so I am not able to work, I plan to redirect the passion I always brought to my career to fighting this disease. I’m determined to still have a purpose and do something with my time that will improve the lives of others. If a single person’s life is saved from the increased awareness that a Push for Your Tush Walk/Run will create in Fredericton, I will feel like I saved someone from the hardship I’ve had to go through. An added benefit, as Colon Cancer Canada is a small charity with Colon Cancer as its focus, any monies raised in Fredericton will have a huge impact. I know that special Fredericton spirit and I know the community I grew up in will help me make a big difference!

The fun will begin with students from the George Street Middle School attending a special screening of Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The students and school are being honoured with this star treatment as a result of their extraordinary volunteer and fundraising efforts for CHAT To The Future. CHAT To The Future houses, educates, cares for and provides for 17 orphaned Ugandan children in Kampala. The school sponsored an eight-year -old boy at the orphanage, and raised funds throughout the year to pay for his schooling. To make sure their student had even more support, the school used Skype to interact with the young boy, along with the other orphans.
The George Street Middle School came to the attention of Skype through the Skype in the classroom program, a free global education platform which enables teachers to connect with each other and guest speakers and to use Skype to create interactive learning experiences. As a partner of Skype in the classroom, CHAT regularly uses Skype’s worldwide network of classrooms to extend invitations for schools to become involved in its program.
