Halloween Safety Tips, Wheels and Deals, Fredericton, Used Car Deals
Are you ready for Halloween?? Hugs and Kisses are!!!
It is almost here! The excitement of the occasion can often makes us forget about safety. Here are some safety tips to help keep everyone safe this year:
Children:
- Never trick-or-treat alone. Always walk with an adult or a group of friends.
- Make sure you can be seen. Wear reflective, bright colour costumes, or fasten reflective tape to your costume or bag. Avoid masks that restrict your vision.
- Only visit well-lit houses.
- Don’t go into the house for your treats; always wait outside.
- Don’t eat any treats until an adult has inspected them.
- Carry a flashlight so you can see where you are going.
- Don’t criss-cross the street or run out from between parked cars. Always go down one side of the street, cross at the corner, and then go down the other side.
- Watch for cars pulling out of driveways and backing up.
- Watch for open flames from jack-o-lanterns and displays.
- Don’t trample through gardens or bushes. Always use pathways and sidewalks.
Motorists:
- Halloween means there will be children on the streets. Drivers need to use extra caution. With the excitement of Halloween, children may forget simple pedestrian safety rules.
- Drive slowly in residential areas where children are more likely to be trick-or-treating. Reduce your speed and stay alert.
- Slow down and proceed with caution when entering and exiting driveways or backing up.
Homeowners
- Keep your home and doorway well lit. Clear sidewalks and pathways for safety.
- Avoid using open flames in any displays.
Have a Safe and Huggable Boo!!!
Health in Motion, Wheels and Deals, Fredericton, Used Car Deals
Health in Motion, 24 hour spinathon kicked off at 10am Friday, October 24th in the lobby of Chalmer’s Hospital. The event featured two teams of two spinning for 12 consecutive hours on spin bikes. Megan and John had the first shift from 10am-10pm, Steve and Eric finished off the spinathon with the second shift from 10pm-10am.
The purpose of the event was to raise funds for Oncology, in particular the John Webster Memorial Fund which helps families and patients to pay for expenses (travel etc.) while they undergo cancer treatment.
The event was created by Steve Webster in loving memory of his father who passed from cancer a few years ago. Each year Steve rallies a team of co-workers and friends to participate in the event. This was the 2nd annual 24 hour spinathon.
This year, the event raised $2263 for Oncology. Thank you and hugs to everyone who stopped by to show support and make a donation!!!
Way to go Steve, Megan, John and Eric!!!!

Wheels and Deals Hug of the Week……JULIE GALLANT DAIGLE AND HER TEAM AT CHRYSALIS HOUSE!!!
FROM CANADA’S HUGGABLE CAR DEALER… THE JIM GILBERT’S WHEELS AND DEALS HUG OF THE WEEK GOES TO…JULIE GALLANT DAIGLE AND HER TEAM AT CHRYSALIS HOUSE, WHO RAISED OVER 12-THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR YOUTH IN TRANSITION AT THE 12 HOURS FOR THE HOMELESS EVENT! WAY TO GO!
Youth in Transition Fredericton: http://yitfredericton.ca/
The number and proportion of young Canadians without adequate and secure housing has increased during the last two decade. Despite overall gains which have improved the lives of youth, youth between the ages of 16 and 19 who lack family support remains a group at risk of developing significant problems in their physical and mental health. Additionally, they are at risk of becoming homeless.
Youth In Transition addresses the needs of at-risk or homeless youth by offering supportive living arrangement in conjunction with a program aimed at increasing their self-esteem and independent living skills. Our residence, Chrysalis House, is a place where personal safety and accessibility to employment, education, and health care are met within a nurturing family-like setting. By modelling a stable home setting where each individual is treated with dignity and respect, Youth In Transition is attempting to reach some of New Brunswick’s lost youth.
